Made in Canada Project Update
To date, over 6,000 companies have reached out to us to see how they can support the #MadeInCanadaProject, today, I’m excited to provide an update on our progress.
First and foremost, I was thrilled to be at GM’s plant in Oshawa today as their one millionth mask rolls off the assembly line! The hard work of companies like GM over the past few months has been crucial to our effort to fight COVID-19 and to keep Canadians healthy and safe. Thank you!
Next, we’ve inked two new contracts, one with Plastiques Moore to help the company retool to produce plastic components for testing, and another with AusculSciences Canada, who have developed a touchless stethoscope system that allows nurses and doctors battling COVID-19, to listen to a patients heart and lungs without even needing to be in the room!
We’ve also signed a letter of intent with Precision ADM, a manufacturing company that uses 3D Printing to create medical devices. Located in Winnipeg, Precision ADM has joined the #MadeInCanadaProject with CANSWAB™ test swabs. With a current capacity of 120,000 swabs per week, the company is heavily supporting our testing efforts!
Last but certainly not least, our NGen Supercluster approved five robotic solutions for companies and organizations looking to disinfect work spaces and surfaces. These disinfecting robots, designed by Global DWS Corp, Crosswing, Prescientx, A&K Robotics, and Advanced Intelligent Systems Inc. will help make sure workplaces and healthcare facilities are safe!
I can’t overstate how proud these projects make me feel to be a Canadian, the tireless work our innovation, science and industrial communities have put into helping to keep us safe is the heart and soul of the #MadeInCanadaProject. Let’s keep going!
