You can’t judge a book by its cover, but the elegance gives the man a posture, a way of being and presenting oneself, a way of seducing, even of imposing oneself; it is also a form of language, which sometimes makes it possible to mark one's power.

In terms of luxury ready-to-wear, parity is not acquired, but the man is gaining ground because it now represents 40% of this market. A new clientele pushes the door of prestigious houses or specialists of the custom, get their shoes at Berluti-you'll find a great pair in our sale this week- or Lobb before rushing to Charvet for their shirts. And the commonplaces are more and more revised! The stripe does not lengthen, the tiles do not settle, and when one is round, one wears clothes at his waist, but well cut. The traditional favorite brands of well-dressed gentlemen are always on the rise: Hermès, Cerruti, Old England or Lanvin are still popular.

Like our English friends, men are becoming more and more daring in their outfits. At their first meeting, de Gaulle commented with a scathing "but this is the carnival of London!” The look of Sir Winston Churchill wearing a striped tennis suit on his huge body. The latter replied, with the sense of repartee that is so famous: "not everyone can dress as an unknown soldier".
