Make a Difference, Help Beat Cancer
Cancer devastates most families and it’s getting worse with younger generations. According to the American Cancer Society, there is a rise in cancer diagnosis amongst younger people. It’s not okay and needs to get resolved.
My beautiful grandmother died of duodenum cancer in 1970. Fortunately, she had lived a long life and reached the age of 74 which isn’t bad for someone who was born in 1896. I still would have loved having her by my side longer, but detection and technology was still in the dark ages.
My sister died of liver cancer nearly 30 years later, right before turning 48. She had health problems and saw the best of the best specialists. Unfortunately, her cancer was diagnosed right before her body gave out and she died. It was tragic.
A little over 20 years later in 2021, I was diagnosed with breast cancer at the age of 57. I had a bilateral mastectomy and won my battle within 3 months. The technology, detection and quick action saved my life.
In gratitude, it is part of my survivor’s life mission to spread awareness on how to listen to your body and detect cancer early enough to overcome it. I appear on Podcasts, virtual and live meetings and speak about it to whomever will listen. It’s still not enough.
This month I am swimming for the cause to benefit the work of the American Cancer Society. Please follow the link and donate anything you can because every dollar counts.
