A relatively simple method using the net shift for the response of drug receptors, may assist us in a better understanding of receptor biochemistry. This might also assist those attempting to use molecular models or other computational methods to understand biological problems. By understanding that this method robustly models the classical pharmacological responses and also models receptor modulation, rapid desensitization, spare receptors and receptor over expression, we might gain new insights into how our receptors function. Since many pharmaceutical and biotech companies study these responses, this suggests that a deeper understanding might benefit the scientific development of safer and more effective drugs. The only thing missing is a willingness to try.
