Making the Most of Big Media Moments

Making the Most of Big Media Moments

I thought I'd share some insights about a truth we often overlook: not every marketing approach works for every business. It's a hard fact that lots of money is wasted on misfit strategies, but when we hit the nail on the head, the results can be impressive.

The Payoff of Big Media Events

One cost-effective method we should all think about is leveraging big media events. I was taken aback by the creative genius of Dash, a sugar-free beverage company. Amidst Prince Harry's court proceedings, they held up a humorous sign right in the press's line of sight. This sharp move put Dash in the spotlight without them spending a fortune on advertising.

This unconventional technique, known as guerilla marketing, offers an incredible way to harness public events to your brand's advantage. The secret? A dash of creativity, rapid reaction, and spotting that perfect opportunity.

Lessons from Past Experiences

It's not always smooth sailing, and even when things don't pan out as expected, there are lessons to learn. Like when we decided to shake things up a bit at Edgbaston Cricket Club with some bold guerrilla marketing tactics. It ruffled a few feathers and didn't land as we hoped, but the resulting online chatter taught us the potential of unconventional strategies.

Timing and Brand Alignment Matter

In the fast-paced world of marketing, timing is everything, and so is knowing your audience. It's important that your brand's personality and your tactics go hand-in-hand. A playful brand might pull off a cheeky tactic, but a traditionally serious one might just end up with confused customers.

The Bold Approach Can Pay Off

True, unconventional methods can be risky, but the payoff in terms of media attention and cost-effectiveness can be huge. Remember, our ultimate aim is to make our brand memorable. Brands like Monday.com and Grenade have used daring moves to create a lasting impression.

Making your mark requires taking risks, being original, and timing it right – which can all be tricky. However, when done right, unconventional strategies can do wonders for your brand recognition.

Absolutely! Your insights on creative approaches are on point. We're here to help businesses find their unique marketing magic! ✨
