Global Healthcare Manufacturer, Vernacare turns to smart technology to drive efficiency

Last month, we caught up with Vernacare who installed FourJaw in 2023 at its site in Worksop on its dry wipe production lines to identify how efficiently machines were running and determine the root causes of downtime.

Read how the team at Vernacare used FourJaw to inform process improvements across their factory floor, resulting in the removal of all back orders, putting them in a position to deliver orders on time for customers worldwide, a tangible benefit of the unprecedented increase in machine productivity.

The aerospace sector continues to see demand soar but keeping up with production is proving a challenge for many manufacturers.

UK aircraft orders hit a record high in Q1 2024 but deliveries lag

The Manufacturer has published the latest figures released from the ADS Group, the trade association for the aerospace, defence, security and space industries

It says that there were 301 aircraft orders placed in Q1 2024, which represents a 9% improvement on the first quarter of 2023, while ADS records highlight that the number of aircraft on backlog order is 17% ahead of 2023, at 15,812. However, production capacity challenges have meant that the 227 aircraft delivered in Q1 2024 is 12% less than the same quarter of 2023.

With challenges like this, increasing productivity is a key lever manufacturers can pull to maximise production capacity and keep up with demand. Something our customer SPS Technologies has successfully done having increased productivity by 23%, which equates to 273 additional productive hours per week across 15 machines, after utilising our smart technology!
