March Edition

March Edition

March marks spring in India. The season of regeneration and rebirth, of new beginnings and festivals including Holi which is celebrated with fervour across most of the country. We hope readers of this newsletter enjoyed the festivities with their family and friends.

This period is also important for the farmers as it gives them a break between the end of the Rabi season and the start of the Kharif season – India’s two main crop cycles. The span between these two is called Zaid during which farmers mostly grow fruits and vegetables that mature early and require dry, warm weather.

Meanwhile, in keeping with the spirit of the season, Kshema also indulged in some celebration while improving its offerings to serve the farmers better. Read on to know more.

iAGRI app is now live in 14 states

Kshema is growing and we are glad to welcome four more states in our family. Now farmers in Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Mizoram, and Karnataka can buy Kshema’s products Sukriti and Prakriti from our proprietary platform iAGRI using their mobile phones. That's not all. Our relentless effort to improve our services continue parallelly.

The updated version of the iAGRI app now comes with enhanced features to give more power to the farmers buying the Sukriti policy. Farmers can now request to change the crop for which they bought the insurance to another crop before the cut-off date for sowing.

Farmers, who lease land for agriculture too can now buy insurance for their crops after submitting the tenancy certificate. Meanwhile, some features have been added to the CKYC process to make it more robust and secure.

International Women’s Day Celebration at Kshema Offices

The theme of this year’s International Women’s Day was “Invest in Women: Accelerate Progress” while the campaign was “Inspire Inclusion”. Kshema organised an event in its offices to celebrate women in its workforce in which our guest of honour Mrs Sujitha Nukala expanded on the theme. She highlighted the contribution of women in a tech-first organisation like ours and exhorted more women to join technology. Kshema’s Chief Growth Officer Karambir Singh Rai (KB) spoke about financial empowerment and the efficiencies women bring to their work. Prabha Vadlamannati, Company Secretary, and member of Kshema’s leadership team said every woman needs to have a goal and should pursue it with the belief that they can accomplish it. Esteemed guest Madhavi Choudhary encouraged women to chase and fulfill their dreams.

Something is cooking!

Meanwhile, workstations and corridors .... cafeteria and water stations....every corner of the Kshema offices were abuzz with anticipation. One could hear Kshemaites speak in hushed tones. One could sense the excitement reaching the crescendo. But unfortunately, we cannot confirm anything right now to end the suspense. All we can say is that we are gearing up for a huge change!

Keep your eyes peeled for the updates. Soon!!!
