Market Your Book, Part 30: Write Your Next Book (with recap)
To answer your unasked question: yes, I really am suggesting that even while you're working on your first book (or within the first year or two after you've published it), you should strongly consider writing your next one. (Don't shoot the messenger, please!)
Remember how I've suggested you give people other ways to learn more from you? Yes, indeed, one of those ways is through your future books. (I really did just say books.) Smile.
The very best book marketing ever is the release of a second, third, or in some cases, a fiftieth-something book. Those who discover you in future books will come back to the ones you've already published. And it could just be the beginning of a very beautiful friendship.
So, wherever you are in the process of your current book, keep a brain cell or two thinking about what else you could write about in a future book. There's no rush, just something to consider.
This brings us to the end of this series. I'm grateful to all of you who replied to at least one newsletter and said you enjoyed it (some of you said you're saving every one—wow)!
I'll be starting a new series next week, and I hope you're looking forward to it as much as I am. In the meantime, here is a recap of the first week, and the rest of this week will be filled with recaps so you can catch up on any missed content. I want to make sure your marketing game is on point!
Here's a list of posts from Week One of my most recent 6-week series on Book Marketing:
