Marketing Your Book, Part 9: What Do You Want the "Right" Readers to do?
If you've made your list of reader "do's" and "mistakes to avoid," you're now ready for the next level: what do you want your ideal client or customer to do when they've finished reading your book?
I want some (most? all?) readers of You MUST Write a Book to write their books and to know if they want additional help writing their book, I have (a) a companion workbook, (b) a course that guides them through the process step-by-step or even (c) a custom done-for-you publishing option. Want to chat with me about any of these options? Grab a time on my calendar here.
Another example: With the release of You Must MARKET Your Book, I want my readers to (a) know how to market their books, (b) have the understanding they have the freedom to customize their marketing to their personalities, the job of the book, their time, and their budget, and (c) sell ALLLLL of the books! :) And yes, there's a companion workbook and a course, too--which is part of my larger strategy and I highly recommend you do the same with your book. Here's a video where I talk all about this and why it's a great idea. :)
By providing solid, actionable advice in your book, you've positioned yourself as an expert and made yourself likable and accessible to inquiries from those who want to work with you more closely.

Your homework today is to identify what you want ideal prospective clients who have read your books to do: i.e., how can they hire you or engage with you more? Said another way, what else you got? Make that list, and you can subtly provide insight and details throughout the book (and especially in the back matter) to help bring prospects right to your door.
Today is Friday—or should I say Fri-yay? I hope you enjoy it, and have a great weekend!
