The Master-Triangle for a Successful Career

Ok, I know that in every post I speak about only the Concrete Technologists - because I am designing an online course for them. But this post is valid for all career streams - including concrete technology. 

We live in a constantly connected world where the path to your career success passes through three distinct milestones. These milestones are connected and hence they form a triangle - The Master-Triangle for a successful career.  

The left side of this triangle is your Ability. Ability shines through the questions that begin with the words "Can/Do". Here are a few examples: 

Can you perfectly design your concrete mix? 

Do you fully understand the theory and practice of various cementitious materials? 

Do you know the provisions of various national and international building material codes? 

Can you work hard, long, and as a team player?

I think you got the idea. 

The right side of the triangle is the insight that you must have in your work. These are the "How" questions. They test you to the core. 

How do you resolve the pumping issue without changing the source of the aggregates? How do you achieve zero rejection in your concrete supply every day? How do you deal with that client who thinks he is very smart? 

Unless you are thorough with your left side, with your ABILITY, you will not develop your right side - the INSIGHT.

But this is not over - right? There is the third side remaining of The Master-Triangle. And that's related to our constantly connected world. Having Ability and Insight alone is not enough today. You constantly need to prove to the world that you have Ability and Insight. Unless you demonstrate to the world constantly and every day, it is going to be hard to make it to the top 1%. How to prove it every day is a subject for another post.
