Release Planning and Pre-Release Demonstration: unique and practical approach of TS4U

By: Visionary Shiblu Ahmad

Release Planning and Pre-Release Demonstration: TS4U’s Unique Approach to Practical Learning.

At TS4U, we take a distinctive approach to teaching software development through practical, project-centric learning. One of the key aspects of our program is the Release Planning Meeting, a session where our development process is fully transparent and students gain invaluable insights into real-world agile workflows. Here’s how it works:

What Happens in a Release Planning Meeting?

The Release Planning Meeting is a collaborative session where the development team verifies the work completed during the sprint.

Key activities include:

1. Sprint Completion Review:

• Development progress is reviewed to ensure all features and fixes are completed.

• The QA team confirms that both functional and regression testing are finalized.

2. Issue Identification and Prioritization:

• The team categorizes any remaining issues into low, medium, and high-priority levels.

• Decisions are made regarding low-priority (cosmetic) issues, whether to fix them before release or defer them.

3. Staging Validation:

• The staging environment is thoroughly tested to ensure it functions as expected.

• Any issues found in staging are addressed before moving to production.

4. Pre-Release Demonstration:

• In our Sunday Production Pre-Release Webinar, we showcase the sprint’s progress to our students.

• Selected bugs identified by QA are demonstrated, highlighting the resolution process.

5. Deployment to Production:

• After the demonstration, the team deploys the updates to the production environment.

• Students and users can immediately see the results of the sprint, including fixes and new features.

How TS4U Stands Out

Unlike traditional training providers, TS4U integrates students into the development process in real-time. Here’s what makes our approach unique:

• Learning by Doing:

Students experience real-world scenarios by observing and interacting with actual development workflows.

• Exposure to Agile and Scrum Practices:

From sprint planning to production deployment, students see how agile methodologies are implemented in a professional setting.

• Hands-On Interaction with Tools:

We use PMCRM Hub, our project management platform, to manage and demonstrate the sprint process. Students gain practical experience with tools used in the industry.

• Organic Skill Development:

By witnessing the entire development lifecycle—from issue identification to resolution—students gain authentic, practical skills.

Why This Matters

As Visionary Shiblu Ahmad, I believe in an organic, project-centric, learning-by-doing approach. Our goal is to provide students with practical skills and experience without wasting time. Students don’t just learn theories—they actively engage in identifying, observing, and resolving issues as they arise, ensuring they are ready for real-world challenges.
