May 2023 News from CRD
To Our Community:
This month, we published a case report with the comprehensive findings from the CRD-TMH-001 clinical trial. We have made this manuscript available via an open access server as part of our commitment to sharing information that may benefit the rare disease community, while we concurrently submit our manuscript to a peer-review journal.
In addition to the full report published on medRXiv.org, we encourage our community to visit the FAQ section on our website, where we address common questions related to the trial, steps the organization is taking based on what was learned from the study, and more.
CRL Presented the Terry Horgan Pioneer Award
During the CRL 6th World Congress, Charles River presented the "Terry Horgan Pioneer Award" to Emily Whitehead in Terry’s honor. Emily was the first pediatric CAR T patient and is now 11 years cancer-free.
"We honor him today because we can also call him courageous, inspirational and a true medical pioneer, who put his faith in his family, the science and his medical team to participate in a clinical trial for the first in human CRISPR therapy for DMD. This was not blind faith, Terry was an integral part of his drug development which was lead by his brother, Rich Horgan,” said Barbara Killian, Associate Director Discovery, Charles River.
