This is me thanking you for saying thank you

This is me thanking you for saying thank you

Two little words...but what a difference they make. Working in a client-service industry, you're built to want to do good work and make a difference to your clients and help them achieve their goals. Sometimes it's easy--you're partners; you run like you're winning one of those school sports day 'tie a leg together' relays. Sometimes it's a slog--it's like the brief is given in morse code and your first draft response is written in cyrillic...hopefully you get there in the end. But regardless, there will have been an agency team working hard to deliver on the ask. And for anyone doing the asking--clients or senior agency management--it's amazing what a 'thank you' can do for a team's motivation, morale and ability to forget the effort, pressure and hours that went into delivering. Honestly, a simple 'thank you' is sometimes all it takes. And sometimes it can be something much more than that.

I had the pleasure of being CCed on an absolute stunner of a client thank you email to an AXON team earlier this week. People were lit up afterward like it was Christmas. There was talk of framing it. Definitely pinning it to a desk. There may have been talk of hiring a plane to write it in the sky. This little email will be there in the backs of the minds of the team on those tougher days when deadlines are bouncing around like Flubber and someone's bought bags (and bags) of chocolate because it's one of 'those' days. It will possibly even help to fill the void of all the other deliverables or moments that go unthanked by others. To the lovely client who took the time to thank the AXON team for their 'absolutely terrific work' and let them know you feel 'very lucky' to have us as your 'agency and partner,' please know this has made the team's day/week/month. Possibly year.  And I thank you for it.

Hopefully we'll start seeing more and more of emails. Your post is the living proof that taking 2 minutes to write a thank you note makes someone's week! Thanks for sharing and well done to the team!
