The Meaning of Creativity

In a post, I asked the question, “what does creativity mean to you?” I had several people comment to provide their thoughts on the topic. Here are what they had to say:

Creativity is having the natural inclination to see things differently and having the courage to explore it.

1.  Creativity explores

It means a whole lot of fun and freedom. To explore, think, push past the boundaries. It is finding that gift you have and putting it into action with your interactions. It is the sacred space of internal pleasure where passion allows you to create! Something original, unique, and inspired by your imagination! - Paula Goodman

Based on the word create.... create=making something from nothing..... Creativity = finding new ideas or new ways to do things..... seeing an old principle and finding a new way to apply it...... Creativity is doing or being something new in an old situation!!!! – W. Kevin Ward

2. Creativity communicates

I found creativity in writing and poetry, then it expanded to visuals and beyond. Expressing words and adding visuals that promote thoughts and evoke a response. It comes from within really. But experimenting with the qualities in you that make you feel the passion. - Paula Goodman

3.  Creativity exists in us

Summary

Creativity stirs the heart to explore thoughts, ideas, feelings, and communicate them through expressions of creative works. Our creations flow from a natural inner passion to do something new. As we express our creative soul, our being is fueled with joy.
