  • Can you tell us about your journey with JAM BNC? How did you start here

I began working as a Warehouse Associate a little over a year ago. Over time, I took on additional responsibilities and was eventually promoted to Warehouse Utilities. In this role, I was trained to handle various warehouse tasks, such as picking, packing, shipping, receiving, Dupli, customer service, and order management.

With all this knowledge and experience, I have now been promoted to the position of Warehouse Supervisor.

  • What is your current role at JAM BNC, and what are your primary responsibilities?

Currently, I am the Warehouse supervisor of our Fulfillment Department overseeing all warehouse aspects/responsibilities.

  • What unique skills or experiences do you bring to your role at JAM BNC?

I would say Adaptability: at my previous job, I had quite a few unforeseen challenges, this included adjusting staffing levels, inventory issues as well as quality control.

A Typical Day at Work

  • Can you walk us through a typical day in your role at JAM BNC?

As I begin my day, I usually review any previous issues that the second shift team encountered or discovered. These could include inventory adjustments, SKU issues, stock checks, and orders that they couldn't find. After that, I typically connect with Nathan G., the Plant Manager, to see if there are any issues that need to be reviewed.

If there aren't any, I go and connect with each area of fulfillment to see where the workload lies for the day. Sometimes, we may need more people picking versus shipping, and in that case, I lend a hand in the areas that need my help the most.

  • What is your favorite part about working at JAM BNC, and why? This

I would say my favorite part of working at JAM BNC is the people I work with. There is such a mixed culture here, and I enjoy learning about all the people I work with.

  • How do you and your team collaborate on projects? Can you give an example?

It depends on the project. For some projects, I may need to involve more teammates than others. Once we determine the team size, we typically meet to discuss the necessary tasks. For instance, the paper project requires us to reorganize our crowded product aisle to improve inventory-picking efficiency for interns.

Career Growth and Learning Experiences

  • How has JAM BNC supported your professional development and career growth?

JAM BNC supported my professional development and career growth. The supportive culture, challenging projects, and focus on employee development have all played a significant role in shaping my career path and preparing me for future opportunities

  • Can you share a significant learning experience you’ve had while working here?

When I started as a Warehouse associate, I felt as though my communication skills weren’t great; however, as I grew into my supervisor role, I was able to get a lot more exposure from things like emails, meetings, etc. intern, boosting my communication skills.

  • What advice would you give to someone starting in your field or considering a career at JAM BNC?

My advice would be to come to work with a positive attitude and understand that every day doesn't go as planned.

Personal Interests or Fun Facts

  • Outside of work, what are your hobbies or interests?

My hobbies outside would consist of bringing my dog to the dog park and hanging out with friends.

  • Do you have a fun fact about yourself that your colleagues might not know?

A fun fact about me that my colleagues don't know is that I like to spend much time on my four-wheeler and dirt bike, pretty much outdoors.

  • How do your personal interests or hobbies influence your work or vice versa

I’m very into personal fitness, hiking, working out, and running with my dog. This helps with how active I need to be in the Warehouse.
