Some of the Recent Cyber Threats and Cyber Security Incidents Where SOCRadar Free Tools May Be Used

  • A new Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attack named DNSBomb, discovered by Tsinghua University researchers, threatened critical internet infrastructure by manipulating DNS traffic. This attack leveraged the recursive nature of DNS resolvers to amplify traffic, causing significant disruption. At SOCRadar, we offer tools like the "DoS Resilience Service" to measure your system’s robustness against such attacks and provide continuous monitoring with our Attack Surface Management module. To effectively safeguard against DDoS attacks, it is imperative to grasp their operational mechanisms and analyze the prevailing tactics. To measure your strength in this situation, you can use SOCRadar Labs' DOS Resilience tool for FREE. • A new wave of cyber attacks targets organizations with a deluge of fake emails and phone calls, mimicking groups like Black Basta and FIN7. This sophisticated campaign overwhelmed employees' inboxes and used phone impersonation tactics to extract sensitive information last week. The SOCRadar platform is essential for detecting and dealing with cyber threat campaigns. Visit the SOCRadar Labs Campaign page for more information and to stay updated on the latest attack trends. • A critical vulnerability in the TP-Link Archer C5400X gaming router allowed remote attackers to execute commands on the device. Tracked as CVE-2024-5035 (CVSSv4: 10.0), this flaw affected TCP ports 8888, 8889, and 8890 used by the 'rftest' service for wireless interface tasks. Attackers could exploit this critical vulnerability by sending specially crafted messages with shell meta-characters, achieving command execution with elevated privileges.
