Meet the Team: Robert Tyndall, Sales Director
Interviewer: Hi everyone! Today we’re excited to introduce Robert Tyndall, our Sales Director here at Responsible Training. Robert has been an integral part of our family-run, high-performing organization for a long time, and we're thrilled to have him share his journey and insights with us. Welcome, Robert! Can you start by telling us a bit about your background and how you got started in the training and development industry?
Robert Tyndall: Hi! I'm Robert Tyndall, the Sales Director for Responsible Training. I've been part of this family-run organization for almost 13 years now. I got involved early on because my mom founded the company, so I’ve been helping out since I was young. I started with small tasks like punching out certificates and mailing them. Over time, my role evolved from helping with phone support to developing a customer support department, and eventually moving into sales.
Interviewer: What does a typical day look like for you in your role as Sales Director at Responsible Training?
Robert Tyndall: My day usually starts around nine with a cup of coffee. I begin by responding to emails and helping with inbound calls. I like to be involved with the phones in the morning because that's when serious issues or new business opportunities usually come in. After that, I work closely with customers, especially now as we're transitioning to a new training platform. My day involves a lot of account management, problem-solving, and setting up expectations for the new system.
Interviewer: What makes Responsible Training unique in the training industry?
Robert Tyndall: In this industry, training materials and courses can be quite similar across providers. What sets us apart is the amount of time and effort we put into managing relationships and ensuring our clients succeed with our platform. We listen well and strive to bridge the gap between the client's vision and reality. This flexibility has led to some of our best features coming from customer suggestions.
Interviewer: Can you share a memorable story about a client you've worked with?
Robert Tyndall: One of my favorite experiences was at the Texas Environmental Health Association (TEHA) show. The Assistant Director for a large Texas county health department approached me about partnering on a training platform. This was a huge opportunity and a turning point in my role. We started working together, and it’s been a successful relationship ever since. It was exciting to see such a significant opportunity fall into our lap and to work on it from the ground up.
Interviewer: What do you do for fun?
Robert Tyndall: Most of my fun revolves around my family, which is convenient since we work together. I enjoy football, grilling, spending time outside, and learning new things. Recently, I've been on a space and history kick. For example, I learned about the formation of Lake Tahoe and then toured the lake with my family, which was a lot of fun.
