🔴 METAVERSE in 3 Phases and 3 Layers {#Infographic}
Beyond the hype and hallucinations, the Metaverse will evolve across 3 overlapping phases, each with 3 layers, maturing around 2030.
Ultimately, expect only one Metaverse, just as with one Internet, but with many "Multiverse" platforms, as with social media today.
🔴 THREE PHASES
🔶️ Each phase will see shifts in technology, markets, and products/services. Each stage presents opportunities to provide interaction capabilities, content, and infrastructure, with products and services needed to deliver on the attributes of a fully functioning Metaverse, and which are integral to enabling new markets and business models.
🔴 Phase 1: EMERGING (2022-24)
Most future use cases are inspired by current use cases (e.g., AR for frontline work and VR for high-consequence scenarios) and provide incremental value.
Most opportunities will be Metaverse driven by technologies such as environmental mapping for robotics and autonomous navigation.
🔴 Phase 2: ADVANCED (2025-27)
Opportunities will focus on the content layer — the data, information and foundation (non-infrastructure) of the Metaverse.
Examples are tools and technologies to map and understand the physical environment, as well as democratize the creation of virtual environments.
Other examples are tech to help analyze the relationships and process between physical items and digital content, the interaction of which will drive combinatorial tech innovation.
🔴 Phase 3: MATURE (2028-2030)
The Metaverse will become much clearer and easier to manage.
Advances will be reinforced by maturing adjacent tech such as 5G, computer vision, immersive tech, and digital currency.

Companies must start now to identify and evaluate their strategic Metaverse opportunities, in 3 ways, based on the 3 Layers:

Evaluate current high-value #INTERACTIVE use cases, such as gaming, navigation, virtual reality (VR), and augmented reality (AR) immersive experiences for your product or service. Decide at which phase to enter the market for a strategic advantage.
Seek a mix of #CONTENT, interaction, and infrastructure opportunities. Build a Metaverse Digital Experience Ecosystem Platform (DEEP) approach, by engaging with content and service delivery partners. (Note: DEEP is adapted by me from my DEP concept).
Consider the interoperable #INFRASTRUCTURE of interactive devices, graphic content tools, and edge computing and P2P networks. Build innovative Metaverse products and solutions based on combinatorial emergent tech, such as spatial computing.
