Metrohm News: October 2023

In case you've missed some of our posts throughout the month of October, find a few highlights below.

Our commitment to standardization📄✔

Standardization plays an important role in improving the quality of life and safety of humans. We at Metrohm are committed to contributing to standardization efforts by collaborating in more than 20 global and local standardization organizations, such as EPA, ISO, AOAC, ASTM, CEN, DIN, SNV, AFNOR, BSI, ABNI, IP, SAC, USP, JAIMA, and more.

Our global norms and standards experts.

Over the years, we have developed more than 2000 standard-related methods for ion chromatography (IC), titration, spectroscopy, and voltammetry. This October, our global norms and standards experts met in Herisau to get up to date on the latest developments.

Launch of comprehensive Raman Library🚀

We have recently launched the new Metrohm Comprehensive Raman Library. This complete collection of over 16,200 substances simplifies material identification for customers in diverse industries and broadens applications for handheld and laboratory Raman.

Built upon the foundations of the Illicit and Common Materials Library and the USP Certified Compounds Library, this library is one of the largest collections of Raman spectra available. It is available for Metrohm’s MIRA XTR DS and MIRA P instruments, in addition to B&W Tek TacticID and i-Raman instruments.

Product reviews: See what other scientists have to say ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

We are very pleased that our entry-level Eco Titrator has received many positive reviews on SelectScience® 4.7 out of 5 stars, in fact!

Reviews from fellow scientists are a great way to obtain informed opinions on the equipment to supplement the information provided by manufacturers.

Upcoming webinars🎥

Throughout this October, we have announced two upcoming webinars. Check them out and save your seat now!

The basics of precise pH measurement

In this webinar, you will get answers to these questions and more:

✔ What is the pH value?

✔ How is it measured?

✔ What are the components of a pH electrode?

✔ Which kind of pH electrode is suitable for which application?

Register for one of the two sessions now:

Green voltammetry – mercury-free analysis of heavy metals

Voltammetry is an established method for highly selective and sensitive analysis of heavy metals. Now, a new generation of mercury-free sensors developed by Metrohm makes this method «green» and hence compatible with increasingly tougher environmental regulations in many countries.

Join Jakub Tymoczko, PhD, in this webinar to learn more about the determination of heavy metals in the lab and in the field – Register now!
