Indigo crew spots passenger standing in aisle just before take-off, flight returns to deboard 'extra' flyer
In what could be a major security lapse, an overbooked passenger on board Indigo flight 6E 6543 from Mumbai to Varanasi was spotted standing at the rare end of the aircraft just before take-off when the crew realised that the passenger was a stand-by instead of a confirmed ticket holder. The incident occurred on Tuesday (May 21).
The crew alerted the pilot and the plane had to return to the gate to off-load the "extra" passenger, which caused a delay. The carrier told CNBC-TV18, "There was an error during the passenger boarding process of 6E 6543 from Mumbai to Varanasi, wherein a standby passenger was allotted a seat reserved for a confirmed passenger. The error was noticed prior to the departure of the aircraft, and the standby passenger was de-boarded. This led to a slight delay in the departure of the aircraft."

How technology is reshaping philanthropy and bringing transparency to the core
India, a land with boundless generosity and immense needs, finds its philanthropic sector at a crucial inflexion point. While contributions from individuals and CSR spending have shown promising growth, rising by 13% and 8%, respectively, over the past five years, there is much more to be done.
NITI Aayog estimates that India falls significantly short of the funds needed to achieve UN Sustainable Development Goals by 2030, requiring an annual investment totalling roughly 13% of the nation's GDP. In this landscape, the call for transparency emerges as a guiding principle. Building upon a narrative of transparency, it is necessary to make a fundamental shift in philanthropic practices.
