MEET BENJAMIN OFFRINGA
Company: Carpe Data
Position: VP of Marketing
Career Bio: The start of Ben’s professional journey is not what one might consider “conventional.” With a double major in theatre and music, Ben found his way into the tech world thanks largely to substantial student debt and the price of one-bedroom apartments in Santa Barbara, CA.
Even so, he caught the content bug while working in sales for Citrix, writing scripts for fellow sales juniors and drafting email campaigns for Marketing on the side. He worked his way into a full time gig managing marketing programs, and then marketing teams. As an individual contributor, Ben’s work in B2B website strategy and content marketing has tripled online viewership and doubled inbound leads generated for mid-size startups.
As a leader, Ben has founded multiple marketing teams and built automation along the way. But his favorite part of his current role as VP of Marketing is nurturing the strengths of others and creating a work environment that doesn’t, ya know. suck.
Personal Bio: Ben currently resides in Madison, Wisconsin with his lap-sitting feline ride-or-die Penelope. He recently completed his first half-marathon!
Would love to connect on: If you agree that Beyoncé’s Homecoming is our generation’s Woodstock; if you developed a baking habit during the lockdown era (Mine was bagels. They’re incredible.); Beekeeping or if you just want to hear me rant about bees for an hour; Broadway Mean Girls vs. Movie Mean Girls; If you have an opening on your trivia team, I’m SO good I promise!

1:1'S WITH BIANCA LAGER
Weekly submissions from the virtual cubicle trenches.
ICYMI Last Week: ““Leadership at my company both 1) schedule excessive meetings and 2) extend invites to a large percentage of people who do not need to be on the call. It feels like we are in a continuous loop of being on calls but never getting anything accomplished. Is there anything I can do to push back or implement positive change?"
New Question of the Week:
“How do I tell my manager that I have too much on my plate and that some things just must suffer? I don't have time to create some beautifully outlined doc that demonstrates how busy I am. How do I just beef it out with them so they can help me prioritize? Everything is NOT the priority!"
