Miracles do happen if we believe
On a cold New Jersey Winter Night of 2008, I and my husband visited a local electronics store to buy headphones for him. It’s been almost 6 months since my husband had an accident and was suffering from slip disc hernia. He was in deep pain for the past 6 months and was unable to cope with his day to day activities due to pain. He was on severe pain medications and nothing seem to help. Orthopedic doctor had recommended spinal cord surgery. Chances of healing 50-60%. If surgery fails, he would live his rest of the life in bed. He was in deep pain, so he decided to take a chance.
He wanted to buy headphones so that he can record some positive affirmations and listen to them because a week later he was scheduled for surgery. We go to this store and were greeted by an elderly gentleman who said that he worked at the store. This gentleman asked us what’s wrong as he could see the sadness on our face, and we told him our story. He recommended that we should try physiotherapy before going for surgery. He recommended a therapist and told us to give it a shot. We took his guidance on faith, postponed the surgery and next day itself started physiotherapy with the therapist he had recommended. Within a month the improvement started showing up. We went back to the store to thank that gentleman. Found out that, he worked at that store only for 2 days and then quit his job. The day when we met him was his last day. As if he was just sent by the universe to guide us and show us the way. It’s been 11 years now; my husband is completely healed. He never went for surgery. It gives me goosebumps when I think about this incident.
I cannot imagine, what would have happened if we did not go to that store or if we did not tell our story to a total stranger or if we did not take chance and believe a stranger?
Since then I take chances, I trust people till they give me a reason not to. Most important of all, I believe in miracles.
