Miracles in General and Miracles in the Christian Thinking
People who are thinkers and intellectuals will give some thought to what I say here. Essentially the idea of a miracle is the interference of the supernatural with the natural world. If you don’t believe in the supernatural, or the possibility of the supernatural, then you are not going to believe in miracles. However, Christianity does, in fact, involve miracles, a great many miracles. And I would like to point out two of them as the basis of our faith. They are very important concepts, and they are concepts that determine the thinking of Christian people. The first one is the incarnation, God becoming man, as a human being, in Christ. That is the great and grand miracle. It’s the miracle of all time, and it’s the miracle that our faith deals with and presents to the world.
The second great miracle is the resurrection, Jesus rising from the dead and offering and gaining eternal life for himself and offering eternal life to all humanity. These are the great and grand miracles. There are many others that I will touch upon in another essay. These are the key miracles in Christian thinking. They are the miracles that determine our faith and make it what it is. The incarnation of God becoming a human being, God becoming man, and also the resurrection of Christ into heaven and offering all humanity eternal life and the conquest of death. I hope you have enjoyed this essay.
