M.K.'s "Podcast Guest" Tips
How Authors can advertise their books for FREE and have fun doing it!
It's been a while since I've written an article, so thought I'd update folks on what's happening in my world of "Podcast Guesting"! With well over one hundred guest appearances, and nearing two million views/listeners, I am feeling very GRATEFUL.
Thank you to the Podcast Hosts, and their audiences, for welcoming me and my message of hope and joy, into their daily lives. I know there are millions of choices "out there" and I appreciate you taking the time to watch/listen to mine.
What's the best part of being on a Podcast? For me, it is the interaction with a new person that I would probably never meet in any other circumstance. It's "traveling" to the Philippines, New Zealand, Ireland, and multiple other countries. It's great hearing their different accents and being able to travel to multiple time zones without suffering "jet lag".
Anyone who has traveled overseas lately will commiserate with my dread of crowded airports, missed connecting flights, and long lines in security areas.

Authors want/need to sell their books. In the "old days", we'd have to drag a box of books to the library, or book store, and pray people would come in to hear us speak or want our autograph. I still do this locally, and at seasonal county fairs occasionally, but sales there are dismal.
However, during the first and last of each month, when I get invoices of global sales - to Japan, Germany, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand - I feel such a thrill! I'm stunned to think MY MEMOIR is being read worldwide! How humbling is that? How grateful do I feel? ("Very" is the answer to both rhetorical questions.)
There are various groups, like "Podcastguests.com", that are available to get you started. You can also peruse existing sites on the Internet, find a program that may fit you, and contact the host directly. The more episodes you have posted on social media, the easier it is for other podcast hosts to find you. Then the "snowball effect" can take over and you'll start racking up the appearances!
Thus, I continue to encourage you writers out there to take the plunge and get yourself, and your book, out into the world. It's waiting for you! Go for it!
