M.K.'s "Podcast Guest" Tips
WHEN IT'S TIME TO TAKE A BREAK
Ok, you've been advertising your book every way you can think of: book signings at local businesses, flooding your Social Media with grinning pictures of yourself holding your book, posting "selfie" videos inviting new readers, appearing on multiple audio and video podcasts, and wearing a name tag with the title of your book on it everywhere you go, even Safeway and church.
Still, the book sales reports are puny, maybe even embarrassing - especially after those myriad fees and charges are deducted from the paltry royalties.
Sigh! Maybe it's time to take a few long, slow breaths and consider a walk in the park or by the beach. A body (and soul) can only do so much.
Fall is around the corner, the leaves will soon change color and fall to the ground, and some of the critters will start preparing a cozy den for the upcoming winter.
I'm taking a cue from nature and taking a break. After over a hundred podcast guest appearances and various speaking engagements, I've rejoiced at the modest uptick in book sales and my podcast video "Views" are just shy of one and a half million!
Not bad for an author that paid to be published through a very small company only three years ago. The main point of writing, publishing, and speaking about my book was to share what I learned in my 2000 Distressing Near-Death Experience. I believe I'd made an inroad on that goal, and that brings me joy.
At the risk of endangering my goal of "manifesting" the recovery of the large sum of my retirement money I spent publishing this memoir, I'm coming to terms with the possibility that it may not happen in my lifetime!

Oh, well! I guess that was part of the "pre-planning" I did before incarnating here. However, the numbers show I have done a pretty good job of spreading the word about God's love and forgiveness, and that my "trip to hell" doesn't have to be experienced by anyone else.
So, for a little while, I'll be concentrating my love and energy on family, friends and myself, and leave the rest to the "Universe".
I still believe that being a Podcast Guest is the best way to promote your book, so please keep going in that direction. It's fun, non-fattening, and FREE! You will meet some incredibly nice people from all over the planet and "talk" to a surprisingly large number of folks who are interested in what YOU have to say.
Thanks to all the Podcast Hosts out there, and to my readers here, for your support. See you again after my "R & R" period.
Happy Podcast Guesting!

1yMarketing is so tough for indie writers, isn't it? I have done a few podcasts and love doing them - I wonder how you found so many on which to be a guest? Is there some useful list somewhere of people searching for author podcast guests? Just wondering! Enjoy your relaxation!
