Mobile & Wireless Roundup #91

Mobile & Wireless Roundup #91

Welcome to the 91st edition of this newsletter. I am fortunate enough to be recommended by a few colleagues on LinkedIn. One of my recommendations starts off with, “Zahid is a time magician. It is hard to believe his days only have 24 hours…”. Someone recently reminded me of this one as I was complaining that I keep running out of time to do things 😁.

So the way I approach time is to divide it into 30 minutes chunks and plan things around them. Lunch would be a chunk, going for a walk round the block is another chunk. Even if I was watching some TV, it would be two or three chunks. I have been doing this for a very long time so I have sort of perfected it for myself. Surely you would have to work out what works best for you.

I also searched on Google and found there is actually something called “time chunking” and there are, as you would expect, even books written on it recently. One of the articles that kept appearing in all my searches (SEO 🤔) said:

Because you plan your work by dividing time into segments and devoting each segment of time to specific tasks, you're more likely to complete each one intentionally. You'll avoid reacting to a huge to-do list and constant multiple interruptions all at once. And you will likely do it all better.

By breaking up your time into dedicated chunks, you'll get much more accomplished throughout the day. This even works for less demanding to-dos like responding to emails, making phone calls, or scheduling meetings. Simply batch smaller tasks like these together into their own chunk of dedicated time.

How do you manage your time? I would be interested to find out….

For those of you who don’t know me, I am a technologist with over 25 years’ experience in mobile wireless technology, currently working as an independent advisor, analyst, consultant and a trainer. This newsletter is a summary of my posts and other news that caught my attention since the last newsletter.
