Momentum is the Word

My word for 2024 is… MOMENTUM!

I’ve often played with the idea of choosing a word for the year, and in years past, words like commitment, belief, and community have been the focus. This year, I hadn’t thought about choosing a word. Then, I received an email asking, “What’s your word for 2024?” I randomly spread out cards with words, and the word is:  drum roll please…..MOMENTUM.

Meaning of Momentum

At first, I was not impressed. But when I brought out the thesaurus and did some research about what this word really means…Wow! Momentum signifies forward movement and energy and overcoming obstacles and challenges. And momentum promotes results. As you know, I’m all about real results! Perfect word.

Momentum leads to productivity and action. No sitting on the couch consuming bonbons if there’s momentum in play.

Adopting this word as my motivator for 2024 inspires me to explore new paths and experiment with innovation and opportunities. Momentum includes the celebration of achievements because, as Robert Fritz teaches, taking the time to celebrate success encourages momentum for the next steps in the pursuit of goals. This positive feedback loop is a critical and often forgotten part of the creative process.

In summary, the choice of MOMENTUM as my word for 2024 serves as a commitment to forward-thinking and taking action. It’s a dynamic word and a force that cuts through the BS of stillness and non-action.
