Monday again...
Another Monday morning... another week of opportunity in front of us, and another week to finish out the year strong.
So what to do today? I decided to ask a friend who coaches agents and lenders, to ask him what he would do starting today. Here is his answer...
"Growing your business requires us to grow our SOI (sphere of influence). So the question is always answered with :go talk to strangers."
Now, our parents spent many years telling us to not talk to strangers, but if you are going to be successful in sales you will have to ignore your parents advice on this issue, and speak with people you do not know. I agree that you should not get into a strangers van for a candy bar, but it is ok to meet new people in professional settings.
Strangers change your business in lots of positive ways...
Strangers are the lifeblood of business growth. The reality is that you do not have enough family and friends to maintain your business. If you know 100 people that own homes, 10 may move in the next year, and you will be lucky to capture 25% of their business, so if they sell and buy, you may get 4-6 closings. Not enough to sustain a business. You need to grow your SOI and find business from acquaintances, strangers and referrals.
What if you went to a chamber or business event and met 10 new people. What if you met them for coffee over the next couple weeks, added them to your data base, followed up and received a few referrals next year. If you meet 10 home owners, one of them is likely to sell in 2025. What if you did this every week?
Imagine your business 5 years from now, if you add 2,3 or even 4,000 people to your SOI Strangers grow your business.
So get out there and shake a hand, say hi to someone you do not know, ask for referrals, have coffees, be active on social media, and watch your business grow."
I love this... hope you did as well.
