While small, this useful update for Instagram Reels now lets you scroll a “Following Feed” to see Reels exclusively from people or brands you already follow.
This isn't new in social as TikTok offers a similar feature but being able to see content form your preferred channels is something that many Threads users also asked for when the platform launched
The new multi-profile option will allow you to share different content with different audiences, put together custom, interest-based profiles, and build separate friend lists and feeds
You'll get to create up to four additional personal profiles in the app, each with its own username and feed to create separation of content
Did You Know: Instagram Expands The Way You Can Create & Collaborate
Instagram recently expanded their creative scope with a number of exciting features that helps you increase ways to collaborate and increase engagement
You can now post by adding music to photo carousels and invite up to three friends to collab/co-author posts and reels. When you do this, your content is shared across the co-authored channels increasing the eyeballs that see and can engage with it
An an effort to add an extra layer of transparency in app, TikTok will now require those using AI to create a post in the app to flag it.
With a dedicated tag for AI-generated content that creators can activate within the upload flow, TikTok becomes the first platform to officially add a specific AI-generated tag (IG still in development)
As social platforms continue to evolve in relation to AI options, tools like this help to keep users informed of AI manipulation in-stream
X's new option which let users pin lists, communities & search queries, making them easier to re-access in the app
While X has tried lists before that didn't catch on, they think the ability to pin different types of content will create greater communities for longevity
X seems to have an interest in more video content on the platform to drive more engagement but in order to do that they need to improve video discovery.
Live video broadcasts may also soon be displayed at the top of user timelines, think Spaces, helping to highlight in-progress broadcasts to more users.
Taylor Swift's appearance at the Chiefs game last week came days after Travis Kelsey invited her to attend a game during an appearance on a podcast. That appearance was covered by every outlet but also moved the needle in the following ways:

Overall, the Sept. 24th Chiefs-Bears game in Kansas City earned 24.3 million TV viewers (most-watched NFL game of week), the New Balance 550 shoes that Swift wore to Arrowhead Stadium quickly began selling out in most sizes and Travis' jersey sales increased by 400% after the game
MAC Cosmetics partnered with Sabrina Bahsoon AKA "TubeGirl" on TikTok, winning over Gen Z and quickly joining a moment
In line with her usual content, MAC had her create content, traveling to the MAC first ever runway show at London's Fashion Week via the Tube (subway)
