This Month's Good Climate News

This Month's Good Climate News

As we wrapped Greenbuild 2024 last month, there is much to reflect upon. And there's still a chance for you to experience it all - with recordings of the great discussions, ideas, education, and masterclasses— see more details about purchasing recordings here. Also, keep an eye out for our call for Call for Proposals in early 2025!

In this December's Monthly Digest, we're changing it up a bit. As we conclude this year, with the highs and lows, in this newsletter, we will focus only on the good climate news this month. We all need a little bit of hope within our community that deeply cares about our environment as we continue to fight for a healthier planet.

We also have a new free CE-accredited Greenbuild webinar, a new blog post, and USGBC's recent articles.

Wishing you a happy and healthy holiday season.

Sustainable Construction: The Role of Concrete in Achieving Sustainability Goals on Your Next Project | Tuesday, December 10th, 2:00pm-3:00pm ET

Add to Your Calendar: Outlook | Google Calendar

Project requirements related to Sustainable Construction are a growing consideration for new buildings, roads, and almost any other development. These requirements are most often related to reduction in embodied carbon emissions (emissions related to manufacture of construction materials, like concrete, and the use of those materials in project construction) and are frequently defined by Global Warming Potential (GWP) targets in units of kilograms of CO2 equivalent per unit, which for concrete is kg CO2-eq/CY.

Join Les White of CEMEX and Korynn Newville of Ryan Companies as they discuss approaches to developing more sustainable construction materials, specifically concrete, and using those materials in construction.  *Counts for 1 GBCI/AIA CE credit.
