Montreal Mayor salutes Stephen Leopold for Ste-Catherine Street infrastructure ideas.
Montreal Mayor, Denis Coderre announced that he will be incorporating the ideas of Stephen Leopold, Chairman of Immodev, into the city's new plans for the reconstruction of St Catherine Street and made special mention of Stephen in front of all press and persons attending the press conference revealing the plans for the future infrastructure of Ste-Catherine Street. Mayor Coderre announced the adoption of Leopold's ideas of heating sidewalks during winter and installing electrical car chargers along the length of Ste-Catherine Street to highlight Montreal's renewable energy that is the greenest and the most renewable in the world. Leopold had previously revealed his ideas before close to 500 persons who gave him a standing ovation at the Board of Trade in a speech delivered March 10: '' I'm a Montrealer and I love Ste-Catherine. It is the heart, soul and economic engine of our city''
Barry Kotler, President of Monit, states that Stephen Leopold has emerged as the key ambassador for the health of Ste-Catherine Street to Montreal and the world. Kotler's company, Monit, owns more space on Ste-Catherine, Sherbooke Street, downtown Montreal and the entire Montreal region than any other privately held company. ''The ideas that Stephen has brought to Ste-Catherine's future health are spectacular and reflect his creativity and knowledge of our city and what will make our city hum in the future.'' Michael Gold, owner of Gold Castle Holdings that has just concluded a lease for Victoria's Secret's 50,000 sq st flagship Canadian store at the corner of Stanley and St Catrherine actually calls Leopold the king of St Catherine and says that he has done more for it than anybody in the last 50 years. Gold says "I think that in 50 years people will remember Mayor Coderre for the heated sidewalks and the electrical charging stations in the same way people remember Mayor Drapeau for the Metro. We have a great Mayor that listens to and implements great and creative ideas."
