Moving on & Mental Health
For those who are struggling with the results of yesterday's election...
There is a silver lining. The election is over.
Which means the fight is over.
Uncertainty is often worse than reality.
Meaning that there is a new reality, and now we can get on with dealing with it, whether we are excited about it or not;
it is what it is.
We don't know what our new president and Congress will do for the next couple of years, most of which will be completely out of our control. Therefore, the only thing we can do is put energy into things we can control and impact and let the chips fall where they fall.
The biggest battles we face in life are in our minds. So much of the stress, fear, doubt, and depression we endure is manufactured in our minds.
Which comes from our survival brain trying to keep us safe;
but we are safe;
we are not in a life-or-death situation.
Most of us have food, water, shelter, and comforts.
We all know this, but we forget because of our amazing imaginations fill our minds with manufactured dramas all day long, and our battle, whether we realize it or not, is not letting our imaginative survival mind consume us.

To combat this challenge, I've been practicing saying the following to myself multiple times a day, and it's incredible how effective it is...
"I am alive. I am breathing. Every minute, every hour, every day I am alive is a gift. Life is beautiful."
Reminding myself of this simple truth reels in my wild imagination, calms my emotions, fills me with positive energy, and realigns my priorities.
So if you are having a tough day... I highly recommend repeating these words (or something like it) as many times as necessary until you start to believe them.
Our mind listens to our self-talk, what we say to ourselves or out loud has an impact on our reality.
So... make it a habit to say something beautiful, something extraordinarily positive about your life first thing in the morning, and throughout your day.
It will help, especially if you do it consistently.
The alternative is letting our imaginations and hard-wired impulses make us miserable all day long, which is a form of imprisonment as become slaves to our imaginative emotions.
I hope this helps someone out there today.
Got to run, Ivy is performing in a Jazz concert tonight!
Cheers, back tomorrow.
