The Much-Awaited Answer is Here!

The Much-Awaited Answer is Here!

Since I posted about the news of Microsoft coming up with a new operating system – Windows 11, I have been getting questions about its exact release date. I am glad to have an answer NOW. It is 5th Oct’21. Yes, just a week remaining for the eligible users to have access to Windows 11. The free upgrade to Windows 11 PCs for the Windows 10 users will be available on 5th October. The users who are looking for new PCs that are preloaded with Windows 11 operating systems can start hitting the stores from this date as well.

Most of my readers know about the changes and attributes of Windows 11, but here I am listing down them again to refresh your memories.

  • Microsoft understands that long working hours at the office or home saps out energy from any individual. Therefore, they have kept the design and sounds in the new operating system modern and calming. The interface is designed to offer an exemplary navigation experience to let people complete their tasks with ease and precision.
  • Ease of use and access stays at the heart of Windows 11. Microsoft has given the power of the cloud to users with the start button itself. Users will be able to access all the recent files irrespective of their device with a click. The widgets powered by AI, that are available in Windows 11, enable users to find the desired information quickly.
  • A decluttered screen is the key to improving productivity and efficiency. Microsoft has given the flexibility of Snap Layouts, Snap Groups and Snap Desktops that allow users to conclude multiple tasks simultaneously and accurately.
  • Connected people bring out productive outcomes. With this view in mind, Microsoft has rolled out a feature where the taskbar is integrated with Microsoft Teams so that people can connect instantly.
  • The Microsoft Store is redesigned for Windows 11 for users to search their favourite games, apps, movies and shows.
  • Innovation remains the soul of the new operating system. Windows 11 is the ideal operating system for developers and creators. The independent software vendors (ISVs) will be able to optimise their application development cycle and bring more ideas to life with the new store available on Windows 11.

Windows 11 is available in preview in Azure Virtual Desktop for businesses who want to test its functionalities and features. Microsoft has decided to roll out free upgrades for Windows 11 in batches to ensure its quality. This means that new devices will receive updates first. The existing devices will get upgrades on the basis of hardware eligibility, age and reliability. Microsoft plans to upgrade all the PCs currently running with Windows 10 by June 2022.
