My 2024 Time Saving Hack: Alert!!! Not a Perfect Article!

NOTE: this was written by my timesaving hack and not edited AT ALL!!!

My number one time saving hack for 2024 is going to be voice typing. it's a little more complicated than that, but let me explain. first off voice typing, which I am doing now, is when you either hit the microphone icon on your phone and voice text someone. these are the long rambling text messages that you see and you're wondering how somebody has all the time to type all of that into their small phone. this is most likely done by Voice text. probably by another mother because my children are always aghast at how long my texts chains are with other mothers and they just don't understand we are really multitasking here by voice texting. but another way to voice text is in Google Docs you hit the tools then you hit voice text then you click on the microphone and you just talk and it captures your words and puts it into the document. It helps me in so many ways. First, I always have so many ideas for pieces in my head but I don't have enough time to write them out. so if I have an idea, now I can just voice type it. and not worry about anything at all in the way of editing or structure. of course voice typing is not perfect but if I just Ramble On To The page, then I at least have some starting document which is better than nothing. even if I have half a page, and most good pieces these days I think are about a page and a half, I think that's a great way to start. voice typing doesn't even get the paragraph breaks in there but as a writer I sort of think in that way so I know where the paragraphs are supposed to be. and then I can get all my thoughts down and then go about my day and realize oh I need to add this or that but then I think well I can just do that later. and I have so many ideas in my head for pieces that if I had to sit down and write for two to three hours each time I had an idea, I would absolutely get nothing done. I know I say that the best way to work is by batch working, or possibly by just working on what you feel like working on. especially if you are ADHD like me. sometimes we just can't do things unless we really want to do them. so if you're actually in the mood to write, or do videos, or what have you, then you might as well just spend all day doing that and then you've got all your content lined up for the rest of the quarter! you might think oh Amy it is so easy for you to say that because you own your own company so you are in charge of your time. ideally this would be the case but I live in the real world and this is never the case. unfortunately we are never in charge of our time. I may be a little more in charge than others, but maybe that only comes with experience to tell you the truth and not my employment status. but I still have things I need to do that I don't want to do and I have to do them in a timely fashion. this could range from a deadline for a client, writing a colleague back, or calling the orthodontist to cancel the appointment for the kid. I think it's very important to write colleagues back in a timely fashion because I found out that one of the main precursors to being unhappy at your job is not hearing back from your boss. well this is not acceptable to me, especially because I know how it feels to be ignored by Bosses or other people and it just doesn't feel good. so if colleagues write me I want to write back in a timely fashion. but the problem is that the topic they're writing me about isn't really that interesting maybe at the time. oh well I just have to get it done. but by the time I do all those little things I have lost the idea I had to write the piece about. or maybe it still floating in there somewhere but I've just sort of lost some motivation and it all just sounds so hard because I think I need an hour or two to actually get it out. well this is just not the case. I am a fast typer so you might be thinking why the heck would it take her an hour just to type down some thoughts and then move on and perfect it later? I do not know the answer to this. I always try to type things fast and then I just get stuck in the editing and this and that with the piece and I just think I can't finish it. and nothing is more time sucking than having to come back to a piece multiple times because you're continuously working on it but you have to stop to do other things. so at least now I have the beginning of a piece that I will put out at some point. possibly after I've had a little bit of time to edit it. or not. what do you think of this just as it is. maybe I should run this just simply as it is so that you can see this train of thought and how I've rambled maybe only for 10 minutes. and got this information. down so that I have somewhat of a piece. now a few tips on voice diction. you do have to enunciate your punctuation. so I'm saying “period” literally to get the periods in there or “comma” literally to get the commas in there. I wonder if I could make a new paragraph. OMG it actually worked oh wait the cursor moved down but it moved back up maybe cuz I had a period after I said new paragraph let me try again. and let's see did it work no it pushed it back up the cursor went down and pushed it back up I bet I had to actually put my finger on the cursor to make it stay. let's try again. new paragraph new paragraph huh huh whatever okay this was dumb. so yeah, done with the peace. what do you think, most importantly what is your time saving hack for the year. oh I was telling you that you have to create your own punctuation by voice when you are voice typing because it helps me to outline why it would even take me 10 minutes to get a page and a half down. it's because I'm doing a little bit extra such as voicing the punctuation and talking a little slowly so it can grab my thoughts or rather my words and then it gives me a chance to let my thoughts catch up to my voice. anyways again tell me what is your time saving hack for 2024?

Good advice Amy. One thing I recommend is running longer voice to text artciles thru ChatGPT to clean up grammar without changing the content.
