My Hidden Superpower
I need to warn you…Virtual Assistants are addictive.
Once you get good support you just get more ideas and then want to grow your team to help you make them a reality.
So much so, that we have 10 team members working directly for my business!!
But it makes me powerful.
My crazy ideas often happen in the shower “shower thought”.
Here are three shower thoughts I have had recently that my team have then gone on to implement.
Sending cards to new clients
A few years ago I signed up to receive a company's services and I received a note in my letter box.
It really stood out to me, because I rarely get anything in the mail at all and when I do it’s not good stuff (bills, fines etc).
It left such an impression on me that one day I remembered it and thought “Hey, why don’t we do that?!”
So I jumped on slack and then over the next few weeks I worked with my team to design a card, write the words, find a supplier and create a process.
Now every time we get a new client, Jong follows the process and sends a card to them (all without my input).
It’s not revolutionary, but small touches can make a big difference overall.

Marketing idea, specific to Mortgage brokers
The other day, I jumped off a podcast recording with one of our clients who is a mortgage broker and I thought…that was really interesting…
You see, I had done a recording with another client of ours who is also a mortgage broker and I thought it was really cool they both had a completely different approach to how they utilise their Virtual Assistants.
I thought…other mortgage brokers might be interested in this too.
So I wrote a message for the team to send out to the 500 odd mortgage brokers that Maureen and I are connected to on LinkedIn asking them if they would like me to share the podcasts with them (in exchange for their email address).
I am not sure of the results yet (I just thought of it yesterday and my team is going to send the messages next week while I am on holiday), but it can’t hurt.
Reviews
I was driving home from Crossfit a few weeks ago and I thought…hey we haven’t had a new google review in a while.
I got back home and checked…it had been 6 months, which is WAY too long.
You see, 6 months ago I had led a push to encourage people to leave reviews (and it worked), but I hadn’t done anything since (and it showed).
So I thought…”How can I make this part of the process?”
I spoke to my team and we devised a system whereby after about the third check in call with a Client, if they were super happy our account manager would write a short message in slack and Jonathan would send the client an email asking them for a review.
Three, five star reviews later, I am a happy woman. But the thing that makes me even happier is to know that this process will continue to happen completely independent of me.
