My key takeaways from organising the SEMrush Marketing Show

My key takeaways from organising the SEMrush Marketing Show

New Year is just in the corner and till my little monster (officially named as #MissElina) is sleeping, I want to share my key takeaways from staying on the organiser's side of the biggest digital marketing conference in India (for more information check #SEMrushConf2019 )

1. Use multiple triggers in your promo campaign. India is surely a very interesting market, different from other parts of the world (for me at least) and authentic. As per my experience, all emotional triggers work effectively in the country of spices and love. So add more love and more spices in your promo campaign.

2. Stay calm. Really just stay calm and focus. Always remember a key objective - why do you organise this conference/event/workshop and etc. You need to focus to bring the value first and would be able to sell all your tickets/bring your audience. Don't forget people are making last-minute decisions in India (and It's VERY challenging for the organisers:)

3. Be ready for the huge response. People in India are really warm and active in social media. All small details (in marketing - the voice of your messages, reminders, cool creatives and etc) will help you to achieve a tremendous result. Don't forget - small mistakes could be spread like fire too.

4. Build a relationship with people and care about them. I really mean - care about people. Care about your experts, speakers, sponsors and each and every person you communicate with. You can be a person behind a big brand or just a freelancer but at the end of the day - you are individual. Treat all people with respect even they called you X times with the same questions/requests for a special discount/reconfirm the published agenda. Never forget that you speak with a Person.

On the long run, it will help to your post-event exercises, next events and personal brand.

5. Never plan to organise a huge event if you're not an extravert. Or should have an awesome "loving all people" professional in the front. Or you would die (emotionally) before the conference would start :)

My huge shout out and warm hugs to all who helped the conference happened. I feel that 2020 will be more challenging and amazing.

Happy New Year!

Gutsy,

Yulia

Yulia- as I mentioned in my post too, the event was very well organized. Besides others, you exemplified your point #4 "build relationship with people".
