My Next Adventure
After 25 years at Goldman Sachs , it was announced today that I will be leaving the firm to embark on a new and exciting adventure.
It has been the privilege of a lifetime to work with so many extraordinary people, many of whom will be lifelong friends. I am incredibly grateful for the opportunities I’ve had, and for the journey itself. From joining as an analyst in London in 1998, to serving the firm in Moscow and then back in London, before ten years ago moving to New York, a city which has now become home, I have circled the globe many times over, spending time with our people as well as our clients, and have developed a great appreciation for the depth and breadth of the talent the firm has around the world. It is the quality of the people at Goldman Sachs that makes this such a special place, and they truly are the greatest asset of the firm.
Having now consolidated the asset and wealth management businesses of the firm, a journey which began back in 2019, it is clear that our clients are seeing the benefits of the unified platform and the tireless work by the entire team. At Goldman Sachs, we are all beneficiaries of 154 years of work by our current and former colleagues to create this great franchise, which enables us all to be successful. I am confident in what the leadership team can go on to deliver in the years to come, and I look forward to watching the asset management business and the firm go from strength to strength.

In addition to the many incredible Goldman Sachs people who have supported me along the journey, the greatest support and source of strength has always been my family. My wife and children are a source of daily joy and inspiration, and there is no greater pleasure than simply spending time with them whenever I can.
So what’s next? It probably comes as no surprise, to those of you who know me, that for a number of years I have considered starting my own investment firm. As I began to think more seriously about what I would want to build from a culture, values and investment focus perspective, it mapped perfectly to what Alan Waxman and the Sixth Street team has built together over the past 14 years. This makes sense given our shared heritage and history together, going all the way back to first working together in 2002. As I considered my own experiences, strengths and what I enjoy doing, set against the extraordinary current business and significant investment potential that exists at Sixth Street, the prospect of joining their partnership to help drive drive the next set of investment opportunities became an obvious and compelling proposition for both of us. I am proud to announce that after my first meaningful break from work in 28 years, I will be joining Sixth Street as a Partner and Co-Chief Investment Officer, alongside my longtime friends Alan Waxman and Joshua Easterly .
While the decision to leave Goldman Sachs was a difficult one, I couldn’t be more excited for what we’re going to accomplish at Sixth Street and I am looking forward to getting started in 2024.
