My Pooja Box- A Unique Endeavour to Cover your Puja Samagri needs Online

Kaveri Sachdev, who was just summing the edge of her bachelor’s degree in Global Business, was scrutinising India’s internet economy. Kaveri Sachdev, along with her brother, has been a part of the growth story of India’s internet economy with their Delhi based startup My Pooja Box. The brother-sister duo founded My Pooja Box in 2017. My Pooja Box presents a ridge of gifting and home décor derivatives as well as pooja and ritual needs for various festivals, priced between Rs 50 and Rs 1 lakh. From wall paintings to candle holders and yantra, My Pooja box has all the puja samagri a person needs for a typical pooja ceremony. Some of them are a brass pooja thali, agarbatti, cotton wicks, Chandan, Haldi, Ganga Jal, and a lot more to make sure all the pooja needs are satisfied.

“The main idea was to provide curated pooja needs, and we did well on Karva Chauth and Diwali. However, we have now started focussing more on home decor and gifting products,” she says.

A One-Stop Destination for Puja Samagri and Necessities.

Purchasing on My Pooja Box store app helps to get updates associated with the orders made by the customers. A wide array of pooja samagri items by category or name is available. Superior products in the different collections are Aarti/Pooja Thali Decorations, Incense Sticks, Lord Buddha statues, Tealight showpieces and Vastu Yantras. MyPoojaBox is a creative e-commerce platform to shop religious books, pooja samagri, home decor items, rakhis and more. Startup’s Product Portfolio has Evolved Over the Years

Today, it marks a wide range of products from rejuvenating crystals to eco-friendly idols of Ganesha, aroma diffuser, and models and envelopes with gold foils. The startup’s merchandise portfolio has developed over the years. Having grown into home décor and gifting brand, Kaveri highlights that they are celebrating India’s culture and heritage by offering products that were crafted and made in India. With merchandise priced at between Rs 50 and Rs 1 lakhthe startup has over 3500 SKUs. She also adds that My Pooja Box has accomplished 100 per cent growth in sales every year. It has also evolved from having nearly 4,000 daily visitors to about 15,000 daily visitors. My Pooja Box is on track to record Rs 6 to Rs 7 crore for the FY2020. Despite catering to buyers across Tier I, II, and III cities, it has a distinct international website for customers abroad.

Challenges Faced by e-Commerce Start-ups

Entrepreneur Kaveri Sachdev and Prateek Sachdev zeroed in on women above the age of 30 as their target audience. Customer accession became the primary challenge as people in the age group were not as tech-savvy to rely on eCommerce platforms for their prayer and ritual requirements. They are still transitioning to online shopping and are not very pleased with using technology. My Pooja Box is trying to address this gap with an active customer care service that is usable via a WhatsApp account linked to the website so that they can reach them easily.
