My Reflections on the Africa Gaming Expo (AGE LAGOS) 2024
The just-concluded #AfricaGamingExpo, 2024, held at the Eko Hotels in Lagos from March 12th to March 15th, was a remarkable showcase of the African continent's growing and dynamic gaming industry. As a delegate, I found the experience both enlightening and exciting, offering profound insights into the evolving landscape of gaming in Africa.
First and foremost, the expo served as a testament to the rapid growth and increasing significance of the #gaming sector in Africa. From independent gaming consultants, enthusiasts, publishers, and developers to established gaming companies, the event brought together a diverse array of stakeholders, each contributing to the vibrant tapestry of the African gaming ecosystem. This convergence of talent and innovation underscored the continent's immense potential as a hub for gaming excellence. One of the most striking aspects of the expo was the palpable sense of community, creativity and ingenuity that permeated the venue. Walking through the exhibition hall, I was impressed by the passion of the representatives of the #gamingindustry and allied service providers, ranging from immersive core gaming industry players to money deposit banks and fintechs, among other stakeholders. It was inspiring to witness African regulators representing different regions on the continent leveraging the AGE platform to tell stories from other climes and express their willingness to collaborate, communicate, and cooperate to make Africa a global #gaminghub.
Whether engaging in panel discussions with industry experts or connecting with fellow enthusiasts on the showroom floor, I was struck by the spirit of camaraderie and mutual support that defined the event. The African #gamingcommunity is passionate about the gaming craft and deeply invested in #promoting a #participatory and supportive environment for all stakeholders. Additionally, the Africa Gaming Expo (AGE) 2024 served as a platform for meaningful conversations surrounding the future of gaming in Africa. From discussions on market trends, gaming #innovation, #consumerbehavior, and #responsiblegaming to panels addressing issues of #regulatoryframeworks, #diversity, and #inclusion within the industry, the expo facilitated meaningful #dialogue that will undoubtedly shape the #trajectory of gaming on the continent soon.
