MY REFLECTIONS: GOODNONSENSE SERIES ONE FALL LATER

MY REFLECTIONS: GOODNONSENSE SERIES ONE FALL LATER

In the beginning of the Fall Season in 2023, we announced the start of a series. As the writer and brain behind #GoodNonSense Series, I had not figured out everything. An idea had just crossed my mind and I jumped on it. I had the backdrop of the story. I knew how the story was going to begin. However, I did not know how it was going to progress and even end. But that uncertainty did not stop me from greenlighting the project. I put pieces together and created the foundation of the series.  I worked the whole quarter. I dedicated my time to birthing something new. Something that I had never worked on or even ever thought that I would one day, be identified as a producer of a series. Creating #GoodNonSense series last Fall went outside my conventional writing duties. In fact, I never planned about it.

I had a normal writing schedule for the financial year beginning 2023. In that schedule, there was no series anywhere. I only had my normal duties, which I have been following for a number of years. The only thing I had thought about in the past years was perhaps, writing a book. I had brainstormed about it and even came up with possible chapters in the book. Writing a book was so close to my typical writing responsibilities. So I thought one day I could be known as an author. It was something that looked possible from all angles. That is what was in my mind not a series. Therefore, when I found myself writing a series instead, I had moments with myself. #GoodNonSense Series was not only going to be my new shocking project but also the main content on Nangila Chronicles. GoodNonSense series and Nangila Chronicles were going to be new things at the same time.

Nangila Chronicles was birthed the same time Fall series was announced. I had not planned on starting a new blog or series. These two events happened to me. They were new exciting and challenging projects. But I embraced them. I focused on creating #GoodNonSense series. When the idea of starting a Fall series came to my mind. I knew it was going to be a recurring story of similar events or subject. I was excited about creating a whole new thing from scratch. Working on all the first six episodes of the first season was definitely going to poke me as a writer. The project focused on me recreating a past. I was part of this past. I had experienced it either as an observer or a participant. Therefore, at the center of the story was my memory. And I kept wondering if my memory was clear enough.

Was I presenting events in the series in their most authentic form? If #GoodNonSense series was going to be contextualized, would my memory pass the test? I don’t have an answer to that question. However, one Fall Later, GoodNonSense series is on its second season. The second season has successfully produced ten episodes that you can enjoy and learn from. There is a 19-year-old girl in the series. She is called Raka Williams. And she has so much that she will teach as she walks you through the big city where she lives. One of the most interesting things about Raka Williams as the main character in the series, is her wisdom. She defies the odds of a typical teenager and serves you some critical life lessons that will make you think of how you are leading your life as an adult.

I learned a lot of things while working on the project. One of those things was the value of my gift as a writer. This gift allowed me to give life to a past that could only have remained as a memory. However, one year later, GoodNonSense, which features prominently at Nangila Chronicles carries several possibilities. The series has its own life. It can develop its own pair of wings or legs and fly. The story in the series, can walk out there on its own and speak to different groups of people. Different people will interpret it differently. There are some who will see the story and try to connect it with their current circumstances. And some of you would want to know where the writer falls in the story. Overall, I created a good thing for you. GoodNonSense series and Nangila Chronicles are wonderful products in modern society. You need to come out here and taste them. Once you taste, you will know where you fit in the story.
