My Sunday Broadcast.
Let us be grateful and thankful to God Almighty for keeping us alive till date, and even till tomorrow, Monday, July 6, 2020, when we shall be witnessing another review of topical issues at Lagos Talk 91.3 FM, from 0930-1100 hours, when Sadiq and The Guru shall be taking control of the Nigerian airwaves live. Let’s preview some of the topics.
Gunmen stormed and attacked the Federal Medical Center in Lokoja, Kogi State, in art of ferocity, subduing every living soul around the hospital to a state of total destruction. They came to do what destroyers would always do best. They came to steal and carted away. But wait a moment. There was no money for them to steal. They did not even come for the cash. What therefore did they come for with such sophisticated weapons?
They came to clean up anything, and everything, that may be pointing to evidence of COVID-19 in Kogi State, at least, to the satisfaction of the omnipotent Governor’s assertion” that there is no Coronavirus in Kogi State, in spite of the death of many in the State” through the Pandemic, would be potent “forever”. Blessed be the name of a “Mighty Mortal Governor”!
Let’s move faster from Kogi State before the arrows of Bello finds target on my back because that guy has terrifying arrows.
The 774,000 jobs the federal government is creating for the poorest Nigerians through the Minister of State in the Ministry of Labour and Productivity, is escalating rejuvenated discussions across the country. The question knocked at the the door of the National Assembly last week, entered the “other room” belonging to the Senate Committee on Labour and Productivity, and met another lyrics and dancing steps from greedy Senators. And these sellout greedy and shameless members, knowing that the Minister; Festus Keyamo, did not come with their expected pie, called for off cameras’ discussion. What that meant is that since the man - Keyamo, “did not pad anything for them”, the best way to “share the meat and fish” is to off the cameras and shut out the “naughty” journalists, for the discussion to have “reasonable” meaning. When they came to the sad realization that a “stubborn Festus Keyamo (SAN)” would not succumb to their greedy demand, the “disco dance” escalated to “Kokoma dual”.
The Guru is producing every ingredients of that fiasco, plus intelligent views of two Nigerians; people of substance, on the subject matter, tomorrow.
“APC: Oyegun, Oshiomhole to campaign for Ize-Iyamu in Edo”, so reported the Vanguard Newspaper. But wait a moment. Did l hear you saying Comrade Adams Aliyu Oshiomhole campaigning for Pastor Ize-Iyamu to become Governor of Edo State? Political wonders shall never finish in Nigeria - forever and ever!
How would the Comrade juxtapose what he shall now be saying about Ize-Iyamu against all the destructive narration of the man (Ize-Iyamu) he presented to Edo State people in 2016? APC should have saved its contender with some element of grace by allowing Comrade Oshiomhole to proceed on sabbatical leave, as against going for this assignment.
Just an advice because the Edo people l know well enough are not that forgetful people to have forgotten all the Comrade said about the Pastor then, in 2016.
A new political mapping for the Nigerian chessboard is being put up by some vibrant adults - they are not Youths per se, somehow for 2023 political engagement. And the new outfit goes by the name of National Consultative Front, according to the news filtering out of the grapevine. Names of some yesteryears juggernauts, some present activists, some legal luminaries, some core professionals, some bankers of repute and seasoned international aristocrats are included on this platform. The name l am not too sure of hearing is that of Colonel Abubakar Umar Kangiwa (retired), the erstwhile Governor of Kaduna State who voluntarily resigned his Military Commission some years back because of the way the military was bashing democracy then. The Guru is expecting some tutorial on this platform tomorrow please - l need to be helped.
A Professor of Law from University of Lagos, Joseph Abugu, will join me in the studio to look at the Constitutionally created Supervisory Role for the National Assembly vis-a-vis the limit of its involvement in execution of projects for, or on behalf, of the the Executive. It is all to share more light on the embarrassing standoffs between Festus Keyamo and the Senate Committee last week. Some people in this Nigerian Federation should know their limits constitutionally.
Then the man l once introduced of having such lucratively intimidating profile, Abubakar Siddique Mohammed, shall be joining me from far away Zaria - Kaduna State, to speak on the Keyamo versus Senate brawl, and as well bringing his experience to bear on the Banditry that had, almost submerged most States in the North/West and North/Central.
Your well deserved Historical Perspective and the glorious platinum piece of Knowledge Dropbox await you.
I shall be telling you something very conspicuous about the recommendation of the COVID-19 Think-Thank Committee, saying no to opening of schools in Nigeria for now - straight from the grapevine.
A most fulfilling day tomorrow shall be, by the grace of God.
