MYNT Energy Tech and TAFE Qld team up to advance Hydrogen Technology Training
MYNT Energy Tech, is excited to announce a partnership with TAFE Queensland, to develop hydrogen technology training and development. A memorandum of understanding was signed this week between MYNT and TAFE Queensland, formalising the relationship as hydrogen technology partners. The goal is to recruit and develop a new generation of hydrogen technicians, ready to meet booming demand within the hydrogen industry.
As the hydrogen sector experiences exponential growth in Queensland and throughout Australia, the need for skilled technicians to support the burgeoning array of hydrogen generators, vehicles, and other innovative products is more critical than ever. This partnership responds to the call for thousands of new roles, ensuring the technical backbone of the industry is robust and forward-thinking.
General Manager of Future Fleet Initiatives at MYNT Energy Tech Steve McCormack explains, “We are not just focusing on advancing hydrogen technology but also on nurturing the workforce that will propel this industry forward.”
This initiative is part of MYNT's broader mission to assist construction and mining companies in their transition from traditional internal combustion generators to cleaner, more sustainable power sources, with hydrogen playing a pivotal role. The collaboration between MYNT and TAFE Queensland underscores a shared belief in the importance of expanding the definition of sustainability. It encompasses not only products and alternative fuels but also the essential training and development of personnel to support the sector's rapid growth and transformation.
Shawn O’Sullivan, Emerging Industries Business Manager at TAFE Queensland – SkillsTech, said this was a key partnership for the state’s largest training provider, “TAFE Queensland has offered quality training for more than 140 years, and an eye on the future has been a constant theme across this time. We are focussed on delivering skills and knowledge to the workers needed by industries we service both today and into the future. This partnership with Mynt Energy Tech is one which will help both TAFE Queensland and Mynt, but also broader industries as their transition to zero emissions becomes a priority in coming years.”
