Nature's Greatest Miracle

Nature's Greatest Miracle

Earlier this week, I needed some inspiration. We've all been there. You're sitting there and no matter how hard you try, you just feel off. Like you don't have the energy or mental capacity in the moment to get it done, no matter what "it" is.

Needless to say, I needed something that would help push me. Something that would help me understand the truth that I am capable of doing what it is I need to do. In times like this, I often find this inspiration in form such as passages from my favorite books, poetry, or quotes.

So, what did I do? I turned and picked up a book that was recommended to me by my father soon after I graduated college.

The Greatest Salesman in the World by Og Mandino.

It's a classic and many reading this may be familiar with it. Its short, easy to read, and impactful. In fact, it is a book that I encourage all of our new hires to read.

Instantly, upon grabbing the book, my thumb found the folded corner of page 71. A page I obviously visit often in times like this.

The section I have highlighted is as follows:

“I am nature’s greatest miracle.

I have been given eyes to see and a mind to think and now I know a great secret of life for I perceive, at last, that all my problems, discouragements, and heartaches are, in truth, great opportunities in disguise. I will no longer be fooled by the garments they wear for my eyes are open. I will look beyond the cloth and I will not be deceived.

I am nature’s greatest miracle.

No beast, no plant, no wind, no rain, no rock, no lake had the same beginning as I, for I was conceived in love and brought forth with a purpose. In the past I have not considered this fact but it will henceforth shape and guide my life.

I am nature’s greatest miracle.

And nature knows not defeat. Eventually, she emerges victorious and so will I, and with each victory the next struggle becomes less difficult. I will win, and I will become a great salesman (person), for I am unique.

I am nature’s greatest miracle.”

A Powerful Reminder

Talk about inspiring. No matter who you are, where you come from, what you are facing, or what your job is, you are important. You are unique.

More importantly, you have been given everything you need to succeed. But only you have the power to realize it.

We hear it all the time, "there is no one else like you." We here this all the time because it is true.

What challenges are you facing?

How are you going to respond to them?

In times when you lack motivation or inspiration, what will you do?

Will you see your challenges as roadblocks or will you see them as "opportunities in disguise?"

Will you remind yourself of the miracle that you are?

Will you remind yourself that just as nature knows not defeat, this will also be the same for you?

Whatever your answer, my hope is that you find inspiration in the truth that you have power in your own unique ability.

👏Well said #IanMohorn... I take a different stance depending on my audience... Half-jokingly I tell some groups that they are certainly "one in a million"... I follow that statement with "...and by that math and the world's current population, there are roughly 7,800 others just like you..." It's all about perspective... Thanks for making me think...
