NIUA Session at WUF12 on Strategies for Urban Resilience

The National Institute of Urban Affairs (NIUA) will be hosting their session on ‘Unpacking NbS: Strategies for Urban Resilience’ at the World Urban Forum (WUF12) on 6th November. The session aims to identify barriers to scaling NbS and explore strategies to accelerate their adoption. In this Pecha Kucha session, rapid presentations will showcase how NbS initiatives have successfully addressed climate risks, highlighting the "recipe for success," such as strong stakeholder engagement and innovative financing mechanisms among others. Additionally, speakers will engage in a focused discussion aimed at identifying three actionable steps to overcome barriers impeding NbS uptake.

Workshop on Wetlands as NbS for Disaster Management and Adaptation Planning

ICARS IIT-R, with India Forum for Nature-based Solutions partners, Wetlands International South Asia and GIZ, is organizing a consultation workshop on ‘Wetlands as Nature-based Solutions for Disaster Management and Adaptation Planning’. This workshop will help identify opportunities and challenges for integration of NbS within disaster management plans.

NbS Event hosted by CEEW at CDRI Pavillion at COP 29

20th November 2024 | 17:00–18:15 IST | CDRI Pavilion, Baku at COP 29

CEEW will host a side event on ‘Nature-based Solutions for Building Resilient Infrastructure in the Global South: Role of Policy, Finance and Technology’ in conjunction with India Climate Collaborative (ICC) and WRI India. The session will identify innovative solutions, that bring together public and private sector stakeholders, along with exploring strategies for implementing urban NbS at scale through financial mechanisms and integration within existing schemes and policies.

WWF India Event on Ecosystem-based Adaptation at COP 29

21st November 2024 |15:00 – 16:00 IST | Panda Hub Pavilion, Baku at COP 29

WWF India will organise a side event titled ‘Nature’s Toolkit: Ecosystem-based Adaptation for Climate Resilience’ at COP 29. The session seeks to spotlight policies and collective action by government, civil society and businesses on ecosystem-based adaptation (EbA), deliberate on barriers, challenges and lessons learned, and discuss innovative approaches for uptake and scaling up of EbA solutions.
