❗Tips: This neat trick will save your networking kit from loadshedding

The problem that loadshedding causes is that when power is restored the time period immediately after that is prone to surges. These surges is what damages networking kit.

A time delay switch can pause the equipment from being energized for a predetermined time such as 3 or 5 minutes. This protects the equipment from any surges during that time period.

ACDC has an excellent time delay product that is DIN rail mounted that does the job. However, another excellent alternative is to use a plug version which is available from Clearline (via takealot).

Another product you can use is to install the CBI controller in front of your inverter. It will provide overall energy readings but best of all it will act as a canary on loadshedding events.
