Nevada National Security Site New Contractor

The National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) issued a solicitation in May 2015 as part of a full and open competition for the Nevada National Security Site (NNSS) contract. DOE/NNSA will soon announce the selection of Nevada Site Science Support and Technologies Corporation, LLC (NVS3T) to be the management and operating (M&O) contractor for the NNSS near Las Vegas, NV. NVS3T is a wholly owned subsidiary of Lockheed Martin Integrated Technology, LLC. The following companies will support NVS3T in the performance of this contract: Fluor Federal Services, Inc. and Longenecker and Associates, Inc.
The current M&O contract for NNSS will be extended beyond its original expiration date of September 30, 2016, in order to allow for a full four month transition period, which will provide stability for the workforce employed under the current contract and efficient continuity of operations for NNSA’s vital missions performed there. The contract awarded to NVS3T will provide coverage for a period of 10 years if all options are exercised. This contract is worth approximately $5 billion over that period.
This notification is provided pursuant to Section 311 of P.L. 112-74. Information contained in this message is source selection information and is restricted by 41 U.S.C chapter 21 from dissemination. See FAR 3.104(f)(1) for further information.
Background on NNSS
The NNSS is a geographically diverse outdoor testing, training, and evaluation complex situated on approximately 1,360 square miles. The facility helps ensure the security of the United States and its allies by supporting the stewardship of the nuclear deterrent, providing emergency response capability and training, and contributing to key nonproliferation and arms control initiatives. NNSS executes unique national-level experiments, supports national security customers through strategic partnerships, manages the legacy of the Cold War nuclear deterrent, and provides long-term environmental stewardship for site missions.
