A new Challenge: Make you change the way you work everyday

At a time when I join Beekast as new appointed CEO of the company, I would like to come back on a couple of topics which make me feel especially excited (and honored) by the promise of this new journey.

My greatest chance this year was to have decided a year ago that “2020 may be the right timing for a longer break” after a tremendous 8-year experience in the e-commerce industry.

The objective was to enjoy some time off, to slow down (and I did not really realize at that time how much it will slow during this year...), find some new exciting projects to advise on. And last but not least think about the next challenging story to work on… To be honest, I’m happy that this global environment gave me the chance to spend a lot of time with my family and without any “professional pressure”. But always keeping in mind to find THE challenge. An ambitious project and team; with great potential, a good product and ideally with some new game-changers which may help to give a new boost to the operations… 

 Never focused on a specific industry, I’ve always been - what people call - a Jack-of-all-trades. For two decades in the digital world, I was used, and really enjoyed switching from an industry to another such as: media, classifieds, sport, finances, video, adtech, martech, foodtech, proptech, ecommerce and blockchain… more globally these past years, I worked mainly on SaaS business… And I’m sure I forgot a few of them…

 So why Beekast?

First of all, Beekast is on track for a very big and promising market. For those who don’t know, our solution is a SaaS platform which enables teams inside a company to be more efficient and operational in their online-based interactions. It can be used on top of solutions like Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Google Meet or any other, to help structuring meetings, trainings or more broadly any event where people in a company interact and want to be more efficient.

World is changing... fast !

During this weird 2020 time, millions of companies worldwide became aware of this concern. In spring, they had to freeze their operations everywhere in the world, quickly, immediately and change the way they used to work on a daily basis.

 Topics like remote cooperation went suddenly on top of priorities for almost everybody. CoVID and its sanitary crisis raised an urgent need to rethink even sometimes reboot without warning our business processes. Everywhere, managers had to reinvent the way they work in order to have the job and the business done. An evolution which will – no doubt – drastically impact the habits of work even after this time of crisis… Because, after the first couple of hours in front of their Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Google Meet screens, they all realized quickly “this is just not enough”.

 Sharing with each other is one thing. Cooperate as a team is another…

 Everybody has to find its own way on that aspect. Of course, agile solutions were here for ages and were used by experts and literate users. Unfortunately, the vast majority of today’s managers are neither familiar nor trained with these methods.

They have to move forward efficiently in order to regain operational efficiencies but without training nor tools to help them overcome this main issue, new methodologies, new tools must be implemented. With platform solutions like Beekast, you can customize and add interactivity to your traditional “top-down” powerpoint-based meeting format. This is how tools which were once – and not so long ago – dedicated to specialized agile teams became mainstream. Just look at the success of products like Teams during this past year and who are their users today… Because this solution is a first obvious step for a lot of managers to make their team’s time online much more efficient, proactive and ultimately create value… Beekast is a great solution for that. We see hundreds of new clients and users coming to us for their corporate (online) events, team trainings and of course for their daily meetings. Our challenges for 2021...

The opportunities that 2020 has brought to the evolution of this particular market, I feel very lucky to join Beekast. I wanted to congratulate Yassine Chabli, founder of the company who drove it from the beginning to this actual stage. We still have plenty of things to build, a lot of markets to address in the near future. And I’m happy to have him by my side on this new journey in his new role as our strategic development supervisor.

We have a great board and are support actively by our invetors Brighteye VC, M Capital and Sofimac Innovation in our ambitious projects. A busy period is starting with the goal to develop the perfect answer to a new way of working which is here to stay… We want to expand the product, the markets, develop our teams and make them all work hard together in the weeks and months to come. We are committed to deliver the best-of-breed global solution to the market. I would like at this point to also thank the dedication of our management and all our teams at Beekast based in Paris and Nantes - who worked every day actively this past year to make our solutions more agile, scalable. They take it to heart to support and answer every day needs of our thousands of customers from more than 20 countries in Europe and the US. Oh... and by the way, we're recruiting...

Now comes a new phase in the Beekast saga… As a client, you will hear about us in the coming weeks with a lot of innovations and improvements to be more efficient, more relevant to your needs.
