A New Chapter...

Returning to work after a long career break can be a really challenging time and for many people, a complete mixture of feelings. This is exactly how I felt when I returned after five years away raising my children. I was thrilled to be getting on with my life and starting a new chapter but at the same time, the thought of working and managing a family filled me with dread. It presented barriers…and lots of them!

 The last four years have taught me that it is an intense physical and psychological adjustment to your life. Returning to work is a gradual process and it is imperative to allow yourself time to relearn and reshape your goals. That, together with the right supportive environment has enabled me to overcome the barriers and progress in my career right from where I left off.
