A New (Fully Flexible) Concept of IS Machine is Revealed...

Hello and Welcome to the June 2023 Newsletter.

Just in time before the end of the month, although the topic was perhaps never in doubt. A secret that is now out of the bag this month after my presentation at Glassman USA on 7th June, concerning an new-concept flexible IS Machine.

There are more features about this new development than I have presented but that can't be said without any breach of confidentiality agreement. I will therefore talk at little more about the presentation I gave, but for anyone wanting to know more about other hidden 'secrets' about this development, a non-disclosure agreement will need to be signed with T&T, Turnov s.r.o. and you can then discuss directly with them.

But enough has already been revealed to show that this new IS Machine development can lead the way to new and more flexible machines than we have seen before. After the presentation, which I made on behalf of Glass Futures , I was asked to help put an article together for future publication in Glass Worldwide . That should come out later this year, in line with the Magazine's publishing

The presentation I have showed the concept of the use of the T&T Machine at Glass Futures, where it will offer an 'Open Access' IS Machine bed and frame for any glass machinery supplier or any glass company to mount an IS Section. That section will be under glass and can be used for demonstration, development, training, or producing trial runs of new glass product developments.

If you are interested in this then contact Glass Futures or let me know so I can put you in contact with the relevant people there to discuss further.

The link or banner below takes you to a short version of the presentation which I gave to summarise the benefits of the new IS Machine development and also reveal the offerings regarding any company interested in providing a 'guest section' to be mounted on the Machine. FAMA by Vitro being the first company to enter into technical discussions to facilitate the installation of a FAMA section on the IS Machine bed.

There are several innovations worthy of note in the presentation, of which most worthy of note are the NEW centre distances and cavity numbers (up to 5 gobs with 95mm centre distance, as well as double gob 8.5" and triple gob 6.25"). In addition, it should be noted that the ONE type of section can do ALL centre distances. This removes the traditional restriction that each IS Machine has previously had in terms of the size range of ware in can produce.

In the past, glass producers would have to look forward to maybe a 30-year life of a machine and decide what range of ware it will be restricted to by virtue of having to commit to a specific cavity centre distance for any particular number of gobs per section. Along with other features, that will be a breakthrough for giving more manufacturing flexibility to the glass container industry.

Finally, to lay the foundation for future support of the offerings of new technology from other great companies, I am reminding you that I have created a place where my equipment reviews can be accessed easily. Even though these are still on LinkedIn, I have added a domain name to the link so it is easy to remember whenever you might want to go there and see who has been added.

The domain name for the link is www.Meet-The-GUYS.com

If you go to this domain name link right now, you will see Konatic, SEI Inc., and now FlameTech LLC featured, but in the coming months, other GUYS will be added (including T&T, Turnov s.r.o. featured in this article). On the links provided, you can check out some of their other products that offer glass plants some distinct advantages.

If you don't know the background to 'Meet The GUYS' (and would like to know about it), here is a link to the Glass International article I wrote on the topic:
