Meaning of « First prints » album title
As this album is the #1 of a collection of original compositions dedicated to theses wonderful musical blends, this title had to celebrate this « Rendez-vous » and the inevitable musical first prints let in the memory of its listeners.
But title of this album had also to point personal first prints of its Composer, Arranger & performer on the path of his work in this universe specific to Brazilian and latin musics who influenced him from his childhood.
About its tunes
(All tracks composed, arranged & performed by Dimitri Gollety)
1. Do Brazil is a tribute song to the country that created these rhythms & harmonies which fed composer's soul from his childhood and then are gushing out from his heart from decades.
2. Tant d’amour is a nice illustration of love and tenderness Bossanova music is able to share. You will discover in this tune how rich, kind and sensitive instruvocal performances can be.
3. Pains Bania et chocolats is a theme marrying romantic 🦋 and joyful 🌞 atmospheres with the smooth jazz colors of a Tenor Sax 🎷. With a nice & surprising final shared between Synths, Double Bass and FenderRhodes. Here performed in a full instrumental version, this tune composed at the end of 80’s has unachieved lyrics that could be the subject of a vocal adaptation.
4. Mi amor Bossa. Composed & recorded in 2011, with a high tempo this theme is a tribute, a talk and a dance with one of great Ladies of Music. Jazz colors are so incandescent in this theme, that they has been reused in a swing jazz arrangement with a lower tempo in one song released in CALL OF SWING Musics under the title « Mi amor Jazz ».
5. Réveille moi. Two words that sometimes our heart 🧡 could whisper to each of us. A tune which includes a wonderful whistling solo section. Nice times guaranteed !!!
6. Mi corazon. This full instrumental theme maries Bossa Nova 🇧🇷 with jazz colors in a 6tet instrumental arrangement with Alto Sax 🎷 and Trombone. A mix of romantic and joyful 🌞 atmospheres revealing feelings that sometimes cohabit in our soul.
7. Don’t forget. Also composed & recorded in 2011, this tune mixing Brazilian samba & bossa colors is a rich illustration of what was issued from Composer’s heart on such nice harmonies.
8. Capim DG, a slow bossanova theme composed & recorded in 2011 has been inspired by the chords progression from Capim (Ao vivo) Djavan's song. To be a tribute to Djavan and his large contribution to Brazilian music the title of this tune kept "Capim" word in it.
